I love my parents, they are two of the most wonderful, caring people I know and I am proud to call them my parents. But one thing, they had to pass down to me was, their thighs, stomach and my moms big boobs, I guess there was a catch with that whole having wonderful parents. I know, not all their fault, with nearly no exercise for..well..ever. Unless you count chasing after two toddlers, which I do everyday. I had no motivation! Sure, get healthy for your kids, but like a lot of things in life, it's easier said than done. But I sat down browsing through pictures of my kids and realized I have only a couple of pictures of myself in the pictures with them. What if something were to happen to me and there weren't any pics of me with them? And the ones that were, was an overweight me? "ew, mom was fat!?!"
(not my kid, but he's adorable!)
I didn't like that. And just at that time my grandma had joined Curves!
She lost an inch in back fat, in a month. I figured if SHE could do it, I could to. Plus, I was just a guest, it would be FREE! So, I went and I'm pretty sure I almost died from this stuff commonly known as sweat, I was drowning! Like any other person out of their mind and a little bit lightheaded, I paid the 3 month fee and signed my big butt up. That was last week, so now, I've gone for 5 days and holy cow (no pun intended) my energy level went waaaaaaaaaay up!
I'm attempting to go everyday, which gives the boys time to chill with grandpa while mommy goes to the gym. It's time for a big change!

Doctor, doctor..
Just as I was getting started on here, I got sick, so my weekend project has been stalled.
Thankfully, I'm being nursed back to health
Thankfully not by her!!!
But I have been eating a TON of soup
Thankfully no tomato..
But I'm getting better, I even went to the gym twice this week.
This might, or might not, or might be me. I'll never tell.
In the mean time, I'll be working on a new project!

All you need is Love...
A few weeks ago I was checking out stores in Old Town Spring, Texas, it's a cute little place with some adorable and interesting shops. One of my favorite is Thad's. I browsed their shop and this caught my eye
Photo from Thad's @ http://www.thads.net/
I knew it would be more than a few dollars, so I figured I would give it a shot, attempting to do it myself. I picked up a board at Lowe's for only $7.50 and gave it a nice sanding, priming and painting.
Then we had to space out the two different sized letters. The first go round didnt go so great, the stencil messed up a few letters by sticking, so it got a nice paint job again.
It finally ended up looking like
I wanted it to have a vintage, worn feeling to it, but no dice. So I took a hammer to it and got a few dents in, but it still didn't look right. I asked around, a lot of people suggested a cracking spray paint, but I was determined to do this project under $10. Finally, someone said to use brewed coffee or tea bags, so I made a pitcher if tea and gave it a go
Yay! New use for tea bags!
So now, it's sitting in the living room spreading the love
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

The Playroom Makeover
My hubby and I found our home almost 2 years ago, after a year of looking at houses while living in a hot, crowded town home. We found this one and it was PERFECT, the thing is, it needed a make over badly. So after two years, I finally tackled the former formal dining area.
It went from "oh my Gosh, the toys ahhhh"
To this..
Then to..
Finally..
I liked it, but didn't LOVE it. So much was missing. But a trip to Home Goods and Hobby Lobby changed that.
As of now..
Ta daaaa!
First off, the pine cones!
The boys have a big collection of pine cones thanks to our 3 large pine trees. Hobby Lobby had their spray paint on sale, plus we had some lying around the house, painted a few, put them in my Home Goods canisters and yay something for the shelves!!
I found these awesome holders at Hobby Lobby from $5.49-2.29 not too shabby. Their colors, markers, paints and stickers were in one giant box, but why not put them on display? Make art supplies the art!
I fell IN LOVE with these giant chess pieces! I needed them, plus they were only $1.09 each at Hobby Lobby, down from $4.99 each! They make awesome book or movie ends!
I still have a few more tweaks to make to the rest of the room. Some of which I'll be doing this weekend, so I'll share when I'm done!
Happy Friday!!!
